Local SEO Quick Audit is a Chrome extension from Alameda Marketing. It scans the current page for on-page local SEO issues and shows a checklist score with next steps.
What we read
The extension reads the active tab only when you click the toolbar icon. It does not run in the background on other pages, and it does not build a browsing-history log.
Next steps
The extension produces local recommendations without sending the audit to a server. If you select “Generate AI next steps,” a structured findings summary (hostname, path, detected location tokens, and check results) is sent to our Netlify service and Google Gemini. The extension does not send the full page HTML. This transfer occurs only after you select the AI button for that audit.
Usage analytics
If you enable the “Share anonymous usage analytics” control, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand extension opens, successful or failed scans, and clicks on the Alameda Marketing button. These events are sent through our Netlify analytics endpoint. Analytics events do not include the scanned website's URL, page content, detected locations, audit score, or check results. The separate next-steps service described above receives its own structured findings summary.
When analytics is enabled, the extension stores a randomly generated installation identifier, your analytics preference, and session timestamps in Chrome's local extension storage. The identifier and session ID accompany usage events sent to Google Analytics. Turning analytics off removes the local analytics identifier. Removing the extension removes all local extension storage. These actions do not delete events already received by Google Analytics. Analytics events are retained according to our Google Analytics property's configured retention setting. We do not enable advertising personalization for these events.
Links to alamedamarketing.co include campaign parameters that identify the extension as the referral source. When you follow a link, the destination website's privacy practices apply.
Service usage controls
Our next-steps service stores daily request counts and a hashed client identifier derived from the request's IP address and origin to enforce usage limits. These counters do not store page content. Counter records older than 31 days are deleted by a scheduled cleanup process. Netlify processes network requests to operate these services.
What we do not do
We do not sell data. We do not use your data for ads. We do not store page content.
Google APIs
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices and requests
AI next steps and analytics are optional. You can leave them off and continue using the local audit. To request information about stored data or deletion, contact Alameda Marketing through alamedamarketing.co. Because analytics uses a random identifier and does not include an account or email address, we may not be able to connect an analytics record to a particular person.
